Hello James,
There is video analytics software that will track motion, follow it and zoom in. It will not zoom in on their face however. I haven't heard of a video analytics software package that will specifically zoom in on the persons face.
Is this the only requirement you will be needing for the software? Also, will you be installing this on a CCTV cameras or IP Cameras? I would suggest checking out the Intelligent IP Cameras section and Smart Video Servers section for some product recommendations. All the video analytics software is also listed on the Video Analytics Software Page as well. _________________ Wes

You would need to integrate the two technologies really.
An analytics system that could pass off the co-ordinates of the person that is acting suspiciously to a system like DynaPel which would then go in and take the close-up.
In a sterile scene, you could just use the DynaPel type system alone, but in a busy scene it would quickly become overwhelmed trying to track everyone and take a close-up.

use face detection software to detect the face first, once face sensed, then trigger a zoom camera to zoom in and take more clear face picture, use face recognition software to make comparison with the database faces, and identify ..... hope this may help.
